A Botanical Life Gift Guide: Spring Gifts for Gardeners and Flower Lovers
Spring is the season of new beginnings or new growth from bulbs planted long ago. For a long time, I’ve been wanting to return to the early writing roots of this business. Leelee’s Garden started as a blog and a series of personal essays in 2012. A lot of pivots, 10+ years in business, and about 650 events later(!), I’m picking back up writing about living a botanical life. Think millennial Martha Stewart: notes on gardening, living with plants and flowers, building a creative business, event inspiration, and some of the personal side of it all too.
So here’s my little corner garden of notes and fun inspiration for living a more botanical life. Let’s blog like it’s 2012.
First up is my Botanical Life Spring Gift Guide. What’s a lifestyle blog without a favorite things list? I did some digging and found a ton of cute gifts for that garden loving friend of yours, something other than just another scarf for mom for Mother’s Day, or a treat-yourself gift for you. It’s actual cottage garden meets cottage core meets dopamine decor.
This is my gift guide for what I’m seeing this spring— a mix of garden finds, flower seeds, cozy home pieces, and small objects that feel like they belong in a beautiful botanical life.
Spring 2026 Gift Guide
An etched gold watering can that’s a statement piece all on it’s own.
I tell clients at our events that there’s no plant shame. If you’re a forgetful waterer, that’s okay. If you are, here’s a gorgeous etched watering can that will make you want to water your plant babies. The long spout is perfect for houseplants, but I also love the idea of it sitting on a windowsill, bookshelf, or filling her up with spring tulips.
Flower seeds to swoon over
Every spring I dream about what could be in my garden. Spring planting is such a hopeful thing, placing seeds in indoor trays or direct sowing outside, with the promise that something big and beautiful will emerge. In this chaotic, sometimes scary world we live in, I can always use more of these dreamy packets of hope. These are some of the seeds on my list right now — all a little romantic, with lots of peaches and purples, for a cottage garden in the middle of Chicago. Check your zones and seeding timeline before purchasing. If not these seeds, here’s your permission to buy a few too many seed packets this season :).
A Spring candle to freshen up your home and spirit
One of my best spring memories in recent years was a solo trip I took to Chattanooga to meet the owner of Almanac Supply Co., and then podcast host of Being Boss, the ultimate in oughts-era women entrepreneur inspiration. I’d love to make trip again. What a gorgeous town, and Almanac is still open. This Spring candle is one of my favorite treat-yourself gifts I’ve ever bought.
A shell planter for the patio that will transport you to the beach.
It’s been a long, cold, up and down winter. It may not be summer yet, but a girl can dream. This shell shaped pot is adorable. It feels like something you’d find in a seaside garden shop. I can picture it filled with herbs, trailing nasturtium flowers or strawberries, or a single geranium soaking up the sun.
A bright tasting tea to unleash your creativity
This is one of my favorite tea brands. The packaging is gorgeous and the tea is tasty. Zhena’s teas all have a spiritual component too. This one is all about awakening creativity, perfect for coming out of the post-winter blues and getting your creative juices flowing. Flavor pick: Mango-Lemon Balm-Rose Herbal Tea with Passionflower
A glass and driftood bowl to make a perfect terrarium
Gather sand, air plants, shells and crystals, or charcoal, a layer of pebbles, soil and your favorite succulents or tropical plants (in that order : ) …this driftwood and blown glass bowl would be perfect for a coffee table terrarium.
An adorable monogram mug for morning sips
A delicate floral mug — ideal for morning coffee, afternoon tea, and those in-between moments where you pause and look out the window.
A floral quilt to make your cottage core dreams come true
This is a splurge, but what a dreamy dahlia quilt! Maybe one for the wedding registry? It has a vintage garden vibe, like something you’d find in a cottage room filled with light. It makes me want to open the windows, let the air in, and pick a big bouquet of flowers from the garden.
An accent chair for a cozy botanical corner
Definitely one for the wish list. Another bigger treat. This is the kind of chair that turns a corner into a little artist retreat. Add a few plants nearby, a side table, and suddenly you have a space for morning coffee, afternoon reading, or quiet moments in between everything else. Here’s a fun budget friendly alternative.
