Stop and watch the leaves fall .On this ultimate day of this wild ride of an election, I’ve heard several people tell me how much anxiety they are feeling. And it makes sense. Today the whole world is watching to see who gets elected. While there’s excitement in the air, there’s also anxiety everywhere. On this monumental day, you should get out and vote. But, aIso be sure to unwind. Here’s my favorite new mindfulness practice to help: Over the last week, I’ve been going outside often and just watching the leaves fall. It’s a simple practice, but one of the most peaceful, beautiful, and easy ways to get grounded. I love watching a single leaf as it dances and spirals towards the earth. Magic. If you live in a place where there’s really a Fall, try watching the leaves today and the rest of the week. If not, check out my leaf fall video.

For my last craft show I wanted to make something for Halloween and came up with Halloween Terrariums. With their wild curves, spikes, and unearthly roots, air plants can creepy and crawly enough for a spooky centerpiece.
It’s so easy to get stuck in all the little to-dos of life and business and forget to get my hands creating. This week I tried something new; I came up with themes for each day (Marketing Monday, Accounting Tuesday,...). On “Creative Wednesday” my goal was to create something to keep my creative juices flowing. Want to get creative this weekend, or maybe join me with a Creative Wednesday? Here’s the cute, quick DIY project I came up with. Mix up your pumpkin carving this Halloween and create a pumpkin pot! Recipe: Pumpkin, potted mums, spanish moss (optional)
You can also make mini pumpkin pots with small pumpkins and squashes. For this cutie, the mum container was too large for the pumpkin, so I planted a portion of my mum plant directly into the gutted mini squash. |
